Rams Learn from Past Mistakes

When it to paying running backs, the Los Angeles Rams, well, didn't want to.
Cases in point: hall of famer Eric Dickerson was traded to the Indianapolis Colts in the middle of the 1987 season, despite 1,465 carries and 6968 yards rushing, all in less than four years! Those numbers would make for a very nice career.
Another hall of fame running back, Jerome Bettis, was traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1996. While a Ram, he rushed for nearly 3,100 in three seasons. Both backs felt their body of work deserved new contracts; the Rams felt otherwise.
Since returning to Los Angeles, these Rams are totally different. Not only have they added an abundance of talent that includes Ndamukong Suh, Aqib Talib and Brandin Cooks(recently extendedfor 5 years and $80 million), they have decided to extend running back Todd Gurley II, nicely I might add.
According to ESPN, the talented running back will soon agree to a four-year, $60 million contract, with $45 million guaranteed, making Gurley the highest paid running back in NFL history.
I guess you are never too old to learn from past mistakes.
