The Golden State Warriors proved once again they are a team. There 73 regular season victories were a celebration of great team play. Sunday's convincing victory over the Houston Rockets was yet another example.
Golden State scored 65 second half points and turned a close game into a blowout. The Warriors, who played without guard Stephen Curry in the second half, were led by Draymond Green and Klay Thompson. The duo scored 26 of the team's 41 third quarter points and destroyed the Rockets 121-94 to take a commanding 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven series. Game five is Tuesday night.

Houston started the game with high energy on the defensive side, making Golden State commit turnovers and capitalizing with fast break opportunities. Center Dwight Howard had a double-double midway through the second quarter and had Golden State big man Andrew Bogut in early foul trouble. Even with the turnovers and fouls, the Warriors were tied at halftime 56-56. Just before the half, Curry slipped on a wet spot on the court and he landed awkwardly on his right knee. He hobbled noticeably off the court and could not play the second half. Initial diagnosis is a sprained knee; an MRI is scheduled for Monday.

Without their superstar, Golden State went on a second half barrage that included a record-setting 21 made three-point shots in a playoff game. Ignited by the play of Green and Thompson, the Warriors held the Rockets to just 38 second half points. Houston now finds themselves one game away from that Cancun trip Charles Barkley is planning.
