The Golden State Warriors moved one win closer in their pursuit of the single-season record by defeating the San Antonio Spurs 92-86 Sunday night.

The victory was also the first time the Warriors beat the Spurs in San Antonio in 33 games. The last win occurred on February 14, 1997. Golden State overcame a slow start, shooting just 22 percent from the field and scoring only 14 points in the first quarter. The Spurs didn't capitalize on their brilliant defense. They shot just 30 percent in the first half and although they held the Warriors to a season low 35 first half points, the contest was tied.

Led by the usual suspects, the Warriors' Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green opened the second half by changing the tempo and the course of the game. Curry led the team in scoring with 37 points and with key fourth quarter scoring from Harrison Barnes and Andrew Bogut, Golden State secured the victory. The Spurs entered the game as the league's only undefeated team at home. They can tie the 1985-86 Boston Celtics with 40 home victories with a win against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Warriors will go for win 73 against the Memphis Grizzlies Wednesday.
